Kathakali Performance

Anoop and team present the famous dance drama from Kerala – Kathakali.

The performance portrays an episode from the Mahabharata, right before the outset of the Great War of Kurukshetra, when Bhanumati, the wife of Duryodhana, the eldest Kaurava, stays speechless and grief-stricken in front of her husband. Duryodhana seeks the reason for her wife’s emotional state, and reminds her of all the happiness and charm that generally emenate from her. Bhanumati expresses her fear of Duryodhana getting killed in the battle. A highly chivalrous Duryodhana pacifies his wife, reminding her about the various allies he has, especially the valourous Karna. While Bhanumati isn’t fully convinced, the couple waits as they see Karna approaching them, which concludes the scene.
